Oh the Humidity

Last weekend Amanda and I flew out to Denver to photograph the wedding of my good friend Dr. Charles Rogers; however, I'm saving that post for later.  Before we flew out of Baton Rouge we of course had to go through security.  This was the first time I've flown without them checking my camera gear ('cause I always carry it on).  I was surprised to learn that a standard size tube of toothpaste is not allowed yet a cigarette lighter is perfectly fine (not mine, but from two other travelers).  That puzzled me the whole trip.

I had to stare out of the window since I was crammed into a sardine can with wings as we left Baton Rouge.  These are taken with my iPhone so excuse the quality.

Once we got to Denver and dodged tornadoes, we stopped by the mall to kill time before checking into the hotel.  I desperately needed sunglasses once we got there because Colorado is nothing but bright blue skies.  We found some interesting glasses. Do people actually wear these?!

It was a good trip but tiring.  Colorado might be our honeymoon destination.  Well when we got back in BR and walked out of the airport the humidity hit us.  We shared a deep "uuuugh" and trudged to the car, where the internal temperature was 115 degrees.  I can't wait for August.  :-p

Memorial Day we relaxed at the movies with my dad.  I highly suggest going to see the new Indiana Jones movie.  A quick bite to eat afterwards then Amanda and I worked on wedding plans.  We have finally decided on a date and location.  More on that later.

Marrying an Interior Designer has its benefits.  Amanda knows I like lamps so she brought me this cool one from her office.  It's a sandbag-like base wrapped in Italian leather.  You can position the base anyway you want.  The aluminum shade floats on top of the bulb to remain level at all times.  It even has a dimmer switch.  If you can't tell, I'm really enjoying the lamp.
